Tim Choi Japanese Restaurant has two branches, both located in Zhongzheng District, Taipei City, near Ximen Station and Taipei Main Station. Today my colleagues and I went to eat at the Wuchang branch. This store has two floors and plenty of seats, making it suitable for gatherings.
Tim Choi has many meal options, including Japanese set meals, donburi, fried rice, omelette rice, udon noodles, sushi, hand rolls, sashimi, fried tempura, stir-fried foods, soup hot pot, etc., everything is available~ Key points, And oden! I like the oden here very much!
p.s. Usually there is a 10% service charge, but our company employee ID card waives it, so colleagues often come here to dine.
I hesitated for a long time between salmon fried rice and omelette rice, and finally chose omurice rice for $140.
(I’ve had salmon fried rice before and it was quite delicious~~~)
Omelet rice is very pure fried rice with tomato sauce. It is covered with a thin layer of egg skin and drizzled with a little tomato sauce. The egg skin is quite fragrant. The fried rice only has a little bit of shredded pork and no other ingredients, but it is good. I ate it and I personally liked it! It’s just that the portion of fried rice itself wasn’t that big.
One of the great things about dining at Tim Choi is that when you order a staple dish, it will come with miso soup, pickled radish, and dessert, so the whole set will actually be quite filling!
Tim Choi's miso soup is quite delicious, not too bland or too salty. I drank the whole bowl. The pickled radish is cut into slices, which is considered a strong pickle. I personally think it can be eaten or not; Dessert is hot mung bean soup. It’s not a big bowl. You can have a bowl as an ending after the meal. It’s very satisfying!
My colleagues ordered the parent-child bowl $150 and the tendon bowl $140. I didn’t ask them what they thought, but seeing as they ate quite cleanly, I guess the taste shouldn’t be bad (?)
My colleagues and I jointly ordered a plate of oden, which cost a total of $160, including: burdock tempura $50, water chestnut meatballs $50, radish $35, and fried tofu $25. The conclusion is that everything is delicious and delicious. It’s hard to tell the difference. High and low, I personally think that if there are enough people, you can order all four of them. If you really have to choose one, I like the burdock tempura the best~~
Overall, I think Tim Choi’s food tastes pretty good. The rice dishes are all above average, and I personally like the tempura. I recommend you to order it when dining here, although the food is not the best in the world of Japanese cuisine. It’s an exquisite route, but the taste and price are quite affordable. If you’re looking for an affordable dining place nearby, I recommend you come to Tiancai for a meal!
ps I have eaten at another branch before - Kaifeng branch, but I have no impression of the taste of the food at that time, it seemed ordinary~
