When you think of coming to Korea, what comes to mind? Me: BBQ with soju!!! 🍺 It seems that every time I travel to Korea, I have to plan several BBQ meals. Not only is the meat great, but the prices are affordable. Although it feels a bit indulgent, since I'm here, why not? 😍
The quality of BBQ I've had in Busan has been generally good, but the prices are very reasonable. Each BBQ place actually has its own unique features. The last time I had the most famous "Wang" BBQ, it also had its special way of serving, but this time, I feel like the pairing at "Aged Path" is more innovative.
I found this place based on reviews online. It's just a few minutes' walk from Gwangalli Beach, which is super convenient. The dining environment in this entire building (I remember it was three stories high) is really impressive! Even more surprisingly, most of the customers around us were locals, which makes me feel like this is a place that local people love.
I made a reservation in advance on Catch Table, requiring a deposit. However, when we arrived on the day, the reservation was canceled, and the deposit was refunded to my card. 💳
There were two of us dining and we ordered two types of meat (aged pork neck and pork belly) plus a refreshing doenjang jjigae rice, and I was already full before even starting the rice... However, the great thing is that we had a designated person grilling for us. They probably knew we were foreigners, as the person serving us spoke English.
Their handsome hands looked nice (getting off-topic 🤗). They provided detailed explanations on how to enjoy the meal and even helped us with two types of sauce pairings. But I didn’t remember the names of each sauce... What left the deepest impression for me was the spicy cod roe and perilla leaves, which pair perfectly with the BBQ.
I won't say much about their grilling technique; they always manage to achieve a crispy outer layer while keeping the meat juicy inside. After eating BBQ, I always want to buy a pair of scissors when in Korea...
When we walked out the door, there were candies to clear bad mouth odors and a spray to eliminate odors from clothes (I didn’t pay attention to the brand of the spray at that time, but it smelled fantastic and worked effectively! If anyone goes there later, please let me know! 😭)
