The soup base of Shantou hot pot is actually sand tea, but it is completely different from the Niutou brand sand tea we often eat. I don’t dare to eat sand tea, but I love Shantou’s sand tea!! You know how amazing it is~

The base of Shantou pot is very sweet, but it has an umami flavor similar to dried fish or dried fish. It is really delicious and not too heavy. Adding vegetables to the pot makes it even more fresh and sweet.
