At "Dazai Lala Pot" on Guangfu Road, there’s a neon sign, and as you approach the entrance, you can smell the unique aroma of seafood mingling with steam.

When the pot base is served, it's clear. As the soup boils and the clams begin to open, that fresh sweetness wafts out as if awakened—not sharp from artificial flavoring, but at just the right temperature to allow the clams to release their salty sweetness without any fishiness from overcooking!

The chicken is tender, without the common fibrous texture or wateriness of frozen chicken, and its flavor becomes even more pronounced after soaking up the broth. The quality of the beef and pork is also above standard, with evenly distributed fat and no fishiness; just a light dip in the pot for a couple of seconds is all it takes for them to be ready to eat.

However, the true highlight of this pot isn’t the seafood or the meat—it’s the "congee" that comes last. 😻 All the essence is left at the bottom of the pot, as the restaurant adds baby fish, chopped scallions, and scallops to thicken the broth, finishing with a dash of sesame oil for aroma; the entire flavor suddenly shines. The congee captures the concentrated marine flavor and the smoothness of the rice grains, with layers of richness. Each spoonful brings different subtle savory notes: the sweetness from the baby fish, the freshness from the scallops, and the lingering taste of sesame oil, coming together like an elegant finale to this seafood dish!

By this point, most people would be quite full, but that bowl of congee is the kind that you simply can’t stop eating—despite being full and telling yourself to stop, your hand still reaches for another spoonful.

In summary, "Dazai Lala Pot" is not the type of place that is exaggeratedly glamorous but one that lets the ingredients speak for themselves, building a sense of presence through careful cooking and details. The broth is clean, the seafood flavor is solid, and the attention to meat quality is evident, while the congee ending leaves a profound impression. If you enjoy a pot that feels light and still offers the sweetness of the ocean, then this place is worth a special trip!
