Thank you, Fooday 🥳 for inspiring me to try more different kinds of cuisine 🍽
🚩 Location 🧭
Located at the intersection of Xinyi Road and Dacheng Road in Puli Township, Nantou County, with the landmark nearby being the Puli Night Market.
🪑 About the Overall Atmosphere 🎡
I originally wanted to go to a Vietnamese restaurant nearby, but the wait was over 40 minutes due to the high volume of customers. As I walked past this place and noticed the delicious aroma, I found the decor quite comfortable, so I decided to step in. The interior mainly features a wooden design, with about nine tables, all made of wood. It seems to get pretty crowded during mealtimes.
💰 About the Pricing 💰
The xiao long bao (soup dumplings) is 70 per basket, and the steamed dumplings are the same. Both the hot and sour soup and the shiitake mushroom meatball soup are 40 each. They also sell black tea, soy milk, and winter melon tea for 20 each. Although the menu isn't extensive, the business is thriving.
🍴 About the Food ☕
First up was the xiao long bao, which was truly impressive with the thickness of the skin and the perfect balance of filling. There was an abundance of broth that burst in my mouth with each bite, making it incredibly satisfying to devour two of them. The steamed dumplings were more ordinary, with not much juice and a skin that wasn’t too thick. The hot and sour soup and the meatball soup were also average, but the xiao long bao is definitely the highlight.
🤨 Conclusion ♥
I think this xiao long bao is comparable to that of Din Tai Fung. Since the menu is limited, I nearly ordered everything in one go. Next time I crave xiao long bao, I won’t hesitate to revisit this Changfeng Soup Dumpling place.
