【Foodholic Nako @ Taipei】

"Hey Pot" is a stone shabu-shabu restaurant located next to the Taipei Transfer Station (Jing Station). Perhaps because of this location, many of the customers are foreign. We went for dinner on a Friday night, and although the restaurant is not large, there were surprisingly three groups of Japanese customers.

The staff's attitude is very friendly, and they chat with you comfortably. Although there is a 10% service charge, the service is quite good, and I feel happy to pay it.

The hot pot meal includes one main dish, a plate of assorted vegetables, one staple (such as white rice, Prince noodles, or tung fen), drinks (iced winter melon lemon or hot brown rice tea), and a dessert (hot red bean and purple rice porridge, iced grass jelly, or milk popsicle).

P.S. Actually, the brown rice tea is originally served hot, but the staff kindly offered to add ice for me.

Drinks can be refilled, and the staff proactively asks, which is a plus.

Since it is a stone hot pot, they first stir-fry with sesame oil and onions. If you order meat slices, they will also be half-cooked in the stir-fry, so the pork slices retain the sesame oil flavor after boiling, which is very fragrant and delicious!

If you have a big appetite, I highly recommend choosing the small surf and turf pot, where you can select one type of meat and two types of seafood for just over 400 NT$, making it quite a good deal for protein!

Today, my favorite was the bass slices, which were very tender without any strange fishy taste, and the portion was quite generous.

The overall performance of the vegetable platter was also good; the only thing was that the seaweed had a weird taste, so I will probably avoid eating it next time.
