The variety of breads is diverse and made with care, with detailed descriptions of the ingredients. The special flavors are rare and leave a strong impression. The chestnut bread has rich layers and is particularly suitable for autumn. Although the price is higher, the portion is sufficiently generous.
The store space is spacious and warm, offering sample tasting services, making people feel the care put into it.
The staff is friendly and provides detailed advice on preservation and handling, with payment mainly in cash or bank transfer. The service is considerate.
I learned about this shop from my family: there’s a restaurant in Taipei that sells bread in Yilan Jiaoxi, and they use a wood-fired oven for their bread. I've heard that their business is quite good (but it seems that the restaurant is currently temporarily closed).
I thought that since it’s so nearby, I definitely had to try it! Later, I found out that they have a Facebook fan page where they list the freshly baked breads every day. Not only do they write the items, but they also introduce the ingredients used for each bread, describing its flavor and texture. It feels like a very dedicated establishment, and the bread changes daily with some special flavors that are rarely seen in regular bakeries. You can leave a comment or send a message to order bread, and you can pick it up during the opening hours at the Jiaoxi store or opt for frozen pickup in Taipei.
This time I bought the chestnut cream bread because it feels like autumn is the perfect time to eat chestnuts! There are actual chestnuts as well as chestnut paste, creating a nice layered texture. The bread costs 250 TWD each (prices vary by item). Their bread isn't exactly cheap, but it feels quite substantial. I usually eat it in 2-3 portions, so when you calculate it that way, it doesn't feel as expensive (?). I previously tried the taro bread with milk, which I thought was also pretty fragrant.
The shop has a spacious and warm atmosphere, and the staff are quite friendly. They offered bread samples and also informed me about how to store and handle the bread at home. Currently, the payment method is primarily cash, but they also accept transfers. If I see flavors that interest me, I might want to try them again.
