A beloved eatery from high school
Recently, I've been working near the Cultural area, so I decided to come back to eat.
(I had it three times in one week, and the photos are of three different meals.)
Must-try braised dishes:
Prince Noodles
Crystal Dumplings (very chewy)
During my student days, my typical order was
Prince Noodles + Crystal Dumplings + Sweet Potato Noodles + Cabbage.
Back then, a meal would only cost $60, and I would be quite full.
Now, just ordering a bit costs over $100. 😿
This time, I tried the number one combo,
although there were some ingredients I didn't like much.
I felt the texture of the fish cake wasn't very good.
But if you're looking for a cheap deal,
and you like these ingredients,
getting a combo is definitely more suitable.
I like this place because the sauce isn’t too salty.
You can ask for extra soup.
Their soup is drinkable! That's why I especially like this place.
Additionally, I add green onions and pickled cabbage.
In school, I would ask for extra pickled cabbage.
(Hey, it’s just vegetables? I treat it as eating more veggies.)
They also offer water and hot black tea (about 2% sugar).
There’s a minimum charge for dining in, and for takeout, they give you a bowl.
The usual soup portion is three tablespoons, but if you want more, just ask for extra soup.
Remember to say no to green onions and pickled cabbage if you don’t want them; otherwise, they will add them automatically.
A small downside is that you have to clean up your own utensils.
