Yaxiang is a chain of stone hotpot restaurants (also selling pickled cabbage and white meat hotpot). It has many branches in Shuangbei. What we ate today is the main store located near Ximen Station.
In the past, I always saw a lot of people passing by during dinner time. I guess I had to wait for a while if I didn't make a reservation. This time I got a good opportunity and came for lunch at around 3pm on Sunday. I could sit down directly without queuing. I'm so happy! (It turned out to be fully booked at early 4 p.m.)
The clerk will ask first if we want to add dried squid to saute it, which will add more flavor (but we will have to buy dried squid at an additional price), and of course we said yes~
The clerk will go to the table to stir-fry the stone hot pot and see that the clerk is using dried squid, mushrooms, onions, scallions, and Chinese cabbage to stir-fry until fragrant (these stir-fries are priced according to the color of the plate)
The soup is quite delicious. I usually don’t drink hot pot soup, but I actually drank two bowls. The ingredients cooked with this soup are very flavorful on their own, and I don’t need any additional sauce.
For the two of us to dine, we will be charged a cooking fee of $100 and a condiment fee of $20*2 for two people. In addition to the cost of the stir-fry ingredients brought by the waiter to stir-fry, the next step is to go directly to the refrigerator to pick up the ingredients, which are priced according to the color of the plate.
Meat is ordered at the table. Beef, pork, and mutton slices are all $80 for a plate of 6 slices. We ordered pork slices and mutton slices; the pork is generally more woody, with a pig flavor, and I need to dip it in sauce. It's not bad, the sheep flavor is quite strong.
Matsusaka pork and corn chicken (actually just chicken legs) are both $350 each. We ordered the corn chicken. Although the price is much more expensive, I personally think it is delicious. Even if it is cooked in the pot for a long time, it tastes delicious. Still super tender, worth the price
The two of us also ordered Gong Wan ($70) and Huazhi Wan ($60). Compared with the two, we preferred Huazhi Wan because it tasted very soft.
Chinese cabbage goes well with the stone hot pot soup. It is recommended to specialize in Chinese cabbage and get a few more plates. Finally, end with Prince Noodles. This soup is really good for cooking noodles~
Overall, Yaxiang's soup is very good, and most of the ingredients are quite satisfactory. The more recommended one is the corn chicken, which is my favorite ingredient I ate today; but the price is not very cheap, and the two of us didn't take a lot. Ingredients, but the total cost of eating is $1270
