Desserts like strawberry mille-feuille, sesame mille-feuille, and fig Earl Grey chiffon are delicious, especially the refreshing sesame mille-feuille that is unexpectedly delightful. Beverages such as floral milk tea and iced shaken honey apple americano are also unique, with striking gradient colors.
The dining environment is comfortable, with decor and tableware featuring an Instagram-worthy style, and there is a photo area. Although the prices are slightly high, the overall atmosphere is worth a visit.
The service is pretty good, but there might be some room for improvement.
During the Qingming Festival holiday, I brought my mother-in-law to my hometown, Yilan, for a trip. After coming down from Taiping Mountain, since we had only one hour left before catching the bus and had just gone through the winding mountain roads, we decided to end the journey with some delicious desserts.
I searched on IG for desserts in downtown Yilan and found this place called Miss Huahong, which specializes in low-sugar treats. We decided to go there and lucked out. The first floor had a counter and a small table outside, so I thought we’d have to take out. But it turned out the dining area was on the second floor, and we were fortunate enough to find a table available. 🥳
We ordered two drinks and three pieces of cake. The drinks were iced honey apple Americano and Huahong fresh milk tea, both delivering beautiful gradient colors. The tea base of the Huahong fresh milk tea was very fragrant, and the creamy froth on top made it delicious. The honey apple Americano was fruity with a subtle honey scent, which I really liked, but the cream layer on top seemed to mask the refreshing taste of the original fruit flavor, which I found a bit hard to appreciate.
However, the main attraction was the desserts. Today we tried the strawberry mille-feuille, sesame mille-feuille, and fig earl grey chiffon cake, all of which were delicious. 🎂 The layers of the mille-feuille were thin, paired with creamy fillings, making them comparable to well-known mille-feuille shops in Taipei. Especially the sesame mille-feuille, which I wouldn’t normally try, turned out to be unexpectedly refreshing since my sister and mom wanted to have it. The fig earl grey chiffon cake was light and airy, complemented by not-too-heavy fresh cream, so it wasn’t cloying at all. The strawberry mille-feuille also performed impressively, even though the strawberries were a bit sour. Since the cakes are low-sugar, they didn’t taste overly sweet, and I found myself unknowingly finishing an entire piece. 🎂
The dining environment was comfortable, and the decor and tableware were very Instagram-worthy. There was also a photo area for taking pictures, but unfortunately, the prices were a bit high. However, given the deliciousness, it was still very worthwhile, and I will definitely come back again. 💰
