The old-fashioned sugar cake stall is located in Kaohsiung's Lingya/Ziqiang Night Market, and the shop is a roadside stand in front of a FamilyMart convenience store. There are many people in line, and on holidays, it takes about 10 to 20 minutes of waiting. All the dishes are freshly fried. When you reach the stall, you tell the owner the flavor and quantity you want, they are coated with seasoning powder, bagged, and then you pay.

Today, I ordered sugar cake, which is $15 each, and I bought two. The shop offers two types of seasoning powders: peanut and sesame. I had never tried sugar cake before, and it was my first time today. It is soft when bitten into; although it is deep-fried, it doesn't feel greasy. I told the owner not to put too much powder on it, so it doesn't taste too sweet. It's a pretty good snack, but I personally think it’s not worth the special wait in line. I guess the low price still attracts many customers. If you pass by and see not too many people in line, you can buy it and give it a try.
