The spicy broth of the magma hot pot performs excellently; the soup base is drinkable and not overly salty, and the duck blood and tofu are delicious. The calcium bone broth has a pleasant flavor, making it recommended for new customers. The meat in the pair set is fresh and the portions are sufficient, resulting in an overall great dining experience.
The interior space is spacious, with a decor that has a sense of technology and is quite impressive. The Christmas tree decorations add to the festive atmosphere, and the environment is comfortable.
The staff enthusiastically recommended soup base options, and the service was attentive and professional, making first-time diners feel satisfied. New members receive a small gift, showing great sincerity.
I don’t know why restaurants in Taichung are usually so spacious; the space here feels futuristic and has a silver technological vibe. Personally, I think the decor is very impressive.
We ordered through a QR code, and there were set menus to choose from as well as a la carte options. We were four people and ordered a double set along with some additional dishes. They offer quite a few items that you can choose in different portion sizes, which is great to avoid ordering too much food. We selected the yin-yang hot pot with mild Chinese herbal spicy broth and a collagen calcium bone broth. The broth for the collagen pot was quite tasty, and the duck blood tofu in the spicy pot can be refilled for free. I personally found their duck blood to be very tender and quite delicious. The flame-seared pork seems to be their signature dish; it comes with sorghum wine, and the staff sets it on fire to let the pork soak in the wine before cooking, giving it a smoky flavor. If you’re concerned about the wine taste, you might want to cook it a bit longer. The other meats also seemed quite fresh; I particularly liked the beef, and the three-second ringing roll was also quite good. The complimentary dessert ice cream was rich, and the drinks were okay.
New members receive a small gift, which feels quite thoughtful rather than just a random gift—grain-fed wagyu chestnut meat, and the portion isn’t too tiny. Plus, you can use it right away, which I think is quite sincere.
Overall, the environment is nice, the broth is quite good, and what left the deepest impression on me was how tender the duck blood was. The service staff were also okay, and there’s a spacious parking lot nearby, which is super convenient. I would like to return if I get the chance.
This was my first time dining at a magma hot pot restaurant, and I chose their couple's set menu.
Since it was my first time ordering, I wasn't quite sure what was special. Fortunately, the staff seriously recommended the spicy and bone broth as the best options for first-timers, saying that these broths offer better sustenance!
The spicy broth performed pretty well; it was a drinkable spicy soup base that wasn't overwhelmingly salty. The tofu and duck blood were both good, especially the duck blood, which was in super big pieces. It was also quite tasty.
The bone broth had a very flavorful taste and provided a comfortable experience! I would really recommend this broth to first-time visitors.
Of course, the most important part of a spicy hot pot is the meat. The meat included in their couple's set was quite good. The portion of meat slices was generous, with each piece being fresh, without any fishy smell, and cut in large slices. It cooks quickly and can be enjoyed with peace of mind. I personally think the portion of meat was adequate.
Overall, this dining experience was very good, and I would visit again if I have the chance next time.
Fortunately, I also happened to see the first Christmas tree of the year in the restaurant!
