This restaurant is already my second visit!
Located right by Kuta Beach, the Boardwalk has a unique advantage with its position, the cool sea breeze, the laughter of children playing in the water, and the vast ocean all make it a great spot to stop here.
I usually arrive here before sunset to secure a good spot, the closer to the beach, the better, striving for the perfect angle to enjoy the beauty of Bali.

The waitstaff here always wear smiles, creating a lovely atmosphere. Although the Boardwalk is technically a hotel restaurant, it is open to outside visitors as well, and there is a pool beside the seating, which seems to be only for guests at the moment!
The scene of people swimming while dining seems perfectly at home in Bali.

This time, the two of us ordered Indonesian cuisine:

  • Mie Goreng Ayam (IDR 89,000, excluding tax)
This is chicken fried noodles served with chicken satay, accompanied by a large shrimp cracker, a very classic Indonesian dish.
I quite like this combination, as the fried noodles and satay satisfy at the same time, plus there’s an abundance of ingredients with the fried egg and shrimp cracker, making it very appetizing. The taste is also quite good, not too greasy, and the egg is slightly runny, mixing it with the fried noodles is even more delicious 😋
I ordered this last time too, and it’s just as tasty this time, highly recommended! 👍

  • Babi Goreng Kecap (IDR 99,000, excluding tax)
This dish features crispy pork belly rice.
When it was served, it looked a bit sparse—just a lump of meat, a lump of rice, and a few slices of tomato, in stark contrast to the fried noodles. The pork was stacked like a small mountain, topped with lots of onions that had been sautéed in dark sauce. Initially, I thought it was some kind of dark dish, but little did I know it would be a delightful surprise!!
The outer skin is fried crispy, resembling that of fried chicken skin, while the pork inside is surprisingly tender. Overall, it’s seasoned with a salty and spicy flavor, very tasty. This dish really surprised me; it elevated a simple pork rice dish just by frying it. Highly recommended! 👍👍
We didn’t order any drinks, so by the time we finished eating, it was a bit salty, but we were almost done anyway. I suggest pairing it with a drink or water for a better experience.
The portion may not look large, but each piece of pork is quite substantial, so ladies can feel full, while men might find it just enough, though they could order some snacks on the side.

These two dishes cost about 200 TWD in total, which is truly reasonable for a restaurant with such a view. Besides Indonesian cuisine, there are also options for pasta, burgers, pizza, and salads, offering a variety of food.
Most of the diners here are foreigners; gazing at the pink horizon in the distance, bathed in the golden warmth of the sunset, I feel I understand why they love coming here.

Here, with the unique relaxed atmosphere of Bali and delicious food, alongside beautiful scenery, is what dining here is all about! I recommend the Boardwalk Restaurant to everyone!
