Famous in the top harbor and renowned in the lower harbor.
Even after the Fooday event week, I still came to eat.
This place is definitely true love 🫶🏻

Especially since this restaurant has been passed down for three generations and has not been remodeled. It still maintains a traditional open-air space without air conditioning. So, sweating profusely during a meal is completely normal 🫠

Beigang Cai's menu is very simple.
It only includes tube rice cake, five kinds of soups, and stewed iron eggs.
Last weekend, I originally wanted to take friends to enjoy one of the five soups — the steamed egg soup.
However, due to the overwhelming crowds on the weekend, I decided against it.
On this particular afternoon break, I was fortunate to have an early dinner with only about five people in line.
Many others were buying a lot of takeout to bring home, so the dining area had many vacant seats ✌🏻

As someone who doesn’t consume much starch for dinner,
this time I ordered a tube rice cake to share with a friend,
and the steamed egg soup and stewed iron eggs were quite filling.

Looking around, it seemed like everyone was having a combination of one rice cake and one soup.
Even on a hot day, sipping hot soup, everyone looked satisfied.
I think this is the charm that has kept Beigang Cai popular to this day ✨
