The self-service breakfast offers a variety of choices, but the taste is average. The stuffed croissants and the mango in the fruit section are standout items, while the pork rice noodles are delicious. The soy milk tastes like it’s made from soy milk powder, and the milk is like shelf-stable milk. Other items such as the waffles and durian pastries are not recommended.
Title: The Student's Meal – What to Eat
This time, I’m unboxing the Hilton breakfast.
Located at the Futian Port in Shenzhen, it takes about a 5-minute walk from the Lok Ma Chau MTR Station to get there.
I just happened to stay for one night, and breakfast was included.
★ Thoughts
It’s a buffet-style setting.
Inside, it’s quite similar to breakfast buffets in Taiwan.
Here, you can observe what others choose for breakfast.
Most travelers still tend to order noodle soup, such as duck egg noodles or rice noodles.
I personally opted for a bowl of Chaozhou pork rice noodles (no rice noodles).
The pork was very fresh, but I don’t have much of an impression of the broth.
I also tried their soy milk, which tasted more like it was made from soy milk powder.
The milk was more like long-life milk in texture.
What really impressed me was their croissant; I had a brief chat with the new chef, and he strongly recommended I try the croissant.
The croissant was filled with custard, which was incredibly delicious!
The waffle was too dry, not recommended.
The durian pancake had a strong skin flavor and not much filling, also not recommended.
The mango in the fruit section was highly recommended!
If you can eat it in the summer, do so! Highly recommended.
The tofu pudding was like douhua, and you could choose sweet or savory.
I treated it as a sweet dish, adding a lot of dried fruit and crispy bits (not highly recommended, but those who don’t like sweet might enjoy it).
As a buffet breakfast with a variety of choices, it is quite worth recommending.
In terms of taste, it is fairly average, and the options are not surprising.
The only things I want to have again are the stuffed croissant and the fruit! They are unforgettable.
