【Foodholic Niko @ Jeju Island, South Korea】

"Cafe TaeHee" is a small café located on the west side of Jeju Island, near the Guojidong Beach. Although it is called a café, it is famous for its fish and chips. The shop is quite small, and the decor has a charming coastal small shop vibe, which I personally really like. The owner is also very nice!

I don't think I've seen any Chinese food reviews about this place. I learned about it from a book called "A Self-Righteous Island Holiday: An Urban Man and a Countryside Dog's Life on Jeju Island," written by a Korean illustrator. The book strongly recommends their fish and chips, and out of curiosity, I made a point to include it in this trip's itinerary.

Although there isn't a Chinese menu available, there is an English menu, which makes ordering quite convenient.

We ordered the signature Fish & Chips for ₩17,000. Since it is freshly fried, we had to wait a bit. When it was served, it was still steaming. The fries were cut quite thickly, and I thought they were pretty standard. The fish fillets tasted very fresh, and I found that it was even better with a squeeze of lemon juice, which helped remove the slight fishy taste. It was also good when dipped in ketchup or tartar sauce.

Overall, the fish and chips were quite tasty, but it’s not a must-visit. If you're near Guojidong Beach and happen to be hungry, it’s worth stopping by.
