While some dishes like the steam tiger grouper and long beans were rather ordinary, the kung pao mantis shrimp yam ring and paper wrapped chicken stood out for their flavour and texture, though portion sizes were on the small side.
The restaurant features both downstairs and upstairs seating with a traditional 10-seater table, creating a spacious yet casual dining atmosphere. However, parking can be a challenge during busy times.
Service was somewhat slow during the visit, possibly due to the quiet lunch period. Despite this, there's hope for improvement during busier dinner times.
Restaurant has a downstairs and upstairs seating area with the traditional 10 seater table. Parking is limited outside the restaurant so do expect some difficulty finding parking on busy timings.
When we arrived, there were few customers there. Unfortunately, food took longer than expected to arrive and staff service was mediocre. However, it could be since its during a slow lunch period and maybe different during busy dinner service so i am willing to overlook this.
Food for the most part was ordinary. The steam tiger grouper and long beans tasted normal, with not much flavour. The toufu was lightly fried and tasted better than the fish and vegetables.
The star dishes for me were the kung pao mantis shrimp yam ring. Its was full of flavour, mantis shrimp nicely fried and the yam was soft with a crispy exterior. However the size was really small. The paper wrapped chicken was also also quite good. The chicken was super soft and the sauce was packed with flavour. Feels like a loh mah kai in chicken form.
Price wise, it was slighly expensive for the portions.
Wouldnt mind coming back again to try different dishes.
