The meals are rich and diverse, including raw dishes, cooked dishes, and soups. The pickled bitter melon is crisp and appetizing, and the sashimi features precious needlefish. The nitrogen coffee and osmanthus nitrogen green tea are worth a try. The Movenpick ice cream is rich and creamy, and the soft-shell crab from the typhoon shelter is flavorful.
The atmosphere is high-quality, and the location and decoration allow one to enjoy a luxurious lifestyle.
Title: Student Review - What to Eat
This time I visited the Jiaoxi Grand Hotel.
The hotel's buffet has reached a high-end restaurant price of over a thousand NT$. Considering its location and decor, it's a perfect opportunity to enjoy a day of high-quality living.
Meal:
Lunch at the Yuntian Buffet Restaurant; NT$ 1080 + 10%
Thoughts:
There are over 50 kinds of dishes, including raw seafood, cooked dishes, and soups.
When going for an all-you-can-eat, I have a little tip to share with everyone: you will definitely feel very full XD. This is a chance to try the kinds of dishes that you wouldn't usually make or have rarely tasted.
I also listened to others' suggestions on what to eat and then tried those dishes.
What impressed me the most was the pickled bitter melon with plum – it was made from tender, crispy mountain bitter melon marinated with pickled plum and fragrant leaves. It was sour, sweet, and refreshing, very crisp, not too sour, with just a hint of bitterness. Overall, it was quite appetizing.
They also served freshly grilled steak and stone crab. Some in my party mentioned that stone crab is quite pricey, as it is a specialty from Yilan, but I found it to have a distinct taste, and the meat was very firm. Coming from eating salmon and cod, I might not fully appreciate stone crab.
Among the sashimi, there was needlefish, which is also a rare sight in an all-you-can-eat restaurant.
The Jiaoxi Grand Hotel offers nitrogen-infused coffee, which has a more delicate and acidic flavor. However, the osmanthus nitrogen-infused green tea is even more worth trying. The selected Americano from the coffee machine is neither sour nor bitter and pairs very well with desserts; it’s quite enjoyable.
European-style bread comes highly recommended by my friends, served with fruit jam and peanut butter.
I personally really like their Mövenpick ice cream—it was full of vanilla seeds, with a creamier taste than Häagen-Dazs.
You should try the typhoon shelter soft-shell crab! It’s very juicy when bitten, and quite flavorful.
As for the fruits, the guava is especially crisp (people with dental issues should be cautious when eating).
Wait Time:
During weekdays around noon at 11:30, when everyone first enters, most rush to the appetizer and sushi area, while the hot food section tends to have fewer people. You can head over there first, and it takes about 10 minutes.
