The dishes such as green onion stir-fried pork rice bowl, roasted chicken leg meal, and red yeast braised pork rice all satisfy. The sauce with the pork rice bowl complements the rice perfectly, the roasted chicken leg is tender and delicious, and eating the meat juice with the rice is very satisfying. The braised pork is tender and not greasy, with a unique red yeast flavor.
The restaurant is tucked away in an alley, full of a warm family atmosphere. It offers free herbal tea, and first-time visitors receive a complimentary cake, which reflects the owner's sincerity and dedication.
The boss recommends making a reservation in advance to avoid waiting. The service is friendly, and they consider the dining needs of the customers carefully.
This is my third visit. This time, I ordered the stir-fried pork with green onions over rice and brown sugar milk tea. The first two times, I ordered the fermented red yeast braised pork rice and the grilled chicken leg meal, respectively.
This restaurant, hidden in an alley, is the place I fell in love with after my first visit. I plan to continue trying all their other dishes in the future. 🥰
✨ Stir-fried Pork with Green Onions over Rice $150
Once again, it did not disappoint me. The portion of pork is just right, neither too much nor too little, with a strong flavor that pairs perfectly with rice. The fresh sweetness of several vegetables complements the dish. The sauce is not overly salty and works great when poured over the last bit of rice, providing immense satisfaction.
🫖 Brown Sugar Milk Tea $30
It's not as sweet as I imagined, nor does it taste diluted with too much water or tea. It’s just a cup of mild, pleasant milk tea.
✨ Grilled Chicken Leg Meal $160 (ordered on the second visit)
This is their signature dish! The owner suggests making a reservation ahead of time to avoid it being sold out or having to wait 30 minutes for it to be freshly roasted.
The grilled chicken leg and rice are served separately. The chicken leg is cut with scissors at the table to avoid messy eating. The grilled chicken leg itself is extremely delicious, tender and flavorful without being greasy. The juices are so good that you won’t want to waste them and will drizzle them over your rice!
It also comes with a side plate of stir-fried vegetables, usually featuring 4-5 varieties. They are tasty, delicious, and healthy.
✨ Fermented Red Yeast Braised Pork Rice $130 (ordered on the first visit)
The braised pork is soft and tender, not greasy or nauseating. The flavor of the fermented red yeast is somewhat reminiscent of fermented wine—slightly sour—but it creates a unique delicious taste when paired with the braised pork. A side plate of stir-fried vegetables is included as well.
First-time visitors receive a complimentary piece of cake, which is just as tasty!
Additionally, they offer free tea in the store made from Gynostemma, spiny jujube, and a Chinese herbal root, which is refreshing and subtly sweet. (Unfortunately, I asked the owner, but it is not sold separately 🥲)
Overall, I feel the dishes have a warm, homey comfort, and I can sense the sincerity of the owner in this restaurant.
❗️ The restaurant cannot accommodate many guests at once. It is advised to make a reservation during peak dining times or when expecting a larger dining party.
