Today for lunch, I went to 📍Thai Chill, an all-you-can-eat Thai restaurant located in Zhongli, Taoyuan.
💰Lunch for one person is $539
Dinner and holidays for one person is $639
Children’s pricing varies by height.
From July 1 to September 10, there's a social media check-in and photo sharing event. If two or more adults dine and share their check-in photo, everyone gets a 5% discount and a voucher for a Mid-Autumn Festival gift box!
So this time, I went with my family of three and spent a total of $1690 ($1536 + service charge of $154). Also, the payment method only accepts cash, which is something to keep in mind.
🅿️ My family and I rode a scooter to the restaurant. There are few parking spots outside, but since we arrived early, we managed to find a spot. However, there’s no need to overly worry, as there’s an underground parking lot for social housing nearby.
🌟 You can message on Facebook to make a reservation in advance.
🍽️
Dining time is 110 minutes, and the last 80 minutes are for final orders.
All the dishes I ordered were spicy, but I couldn't choose the spiciness level, and in reality, they weren’t very spicy, which was a bit disappointing.
The self-service bar offers white rice, Thai milk tea, iced water, Vitamilk, black sugar soda, and ice cream.
There are six ice cream flavors: durian, pandan, coconut, caramel, champagne grape, and a colorful flavor that smells very much like cotton candy?
(Since the restaurant didn’t label the flavors, I inquired, and the staff mentioned that even the colorful one was unknown to them.)
I recommend the colorful flavor. Although it looks very sweet and my first instinct was that it wouldn’t taste good, after trying a bite from my family, I surprisingly liked it! It really does smell like cotton candy, and the ice cream cone had a crispy caramelized coating!
🛑 Final Summary
This time I didn’t have enough fighting spirit, so I didn’t order a variety of dishes and didn’t quite use up the 110 minutes. I think the biggest downside of the restaurant is the lack of Thai desserts, like mango sticky rice; I heard from a staff member that they used to offer desserts but don’t anymore. I'm really sad about that. 🥲
The staff’s service attitude was friendly, and there was only the owner in the kitchen preparing the dishes. During my meal today, I didn’t feel like I waited too long. I think the owner is quite capable, but I’m not sure if it will take longer when the restaurant is full.
I recommend this place to anyone wanting to enjoy all-you-can-eat Thai cuisine at a more affordable price.
