Today for lunch, I went to 📍Thai Chill, an all-you-can-eat Thai restaurant located in Zhongli, Taoyuan.

💰Lunch for one person is $539
Dinner and holidays for one person is $639
Children’s pricing varies by height.

From July 1 to September 10, there's a social media check-in and photo sharing event. If two or more adults dine and share their check-in photo, everyone gets a 5% discount and a voucher for a Mid-Autumn Festival gift box!

So this time, I went with my family of three and spent a total of $1690 ($1536 + service charge of $154). Also, the payment method only accepts cash, which is something to keep in mind.

🅿️ My family and I rode a scooter to the restaurant. There are few parking spots outside, but since we arrived early, we managed to find a spot. However, there’s no need to overly worry, as there’s an underground parking lot for social housing nearby.

🌟 You can message on Facebook to make a reservation in advance.

Dining time is 110 minutes, and the last 80 minutes are for final orders.

  • Stir-fried water spinach with shrimp paste
Highly recommended! A must-order! The crispiness of the water spinach combined with the salty and fragrant shrimp paste makes you want to eat more and more.
  • Coconut beef 🌶️
The beef isn't dry, and the overall flavor is rich without being overwhelming. It’s topped with crushed peanuts for added texture and aroma. Personally, I really liked it; the peanuts made the dish even better!
  • Thai basil pork 🌶️
Not recommended. Although it’s one of the signature dishes, I felt the flavor was not authentic and it didn’t pair well with rice.
  • Thai-style raw shrimp 🌶️
The most anticipated and highly recommended dish! The raw shrimp is fresh and tender, and the Thai seasoning is tangy and refreshing. However, the chili isn’t very spicy, and cilantro is an essential part of this dish, adding to its deliciousness.
  • Marinated seafood salad 🌶️
Contains squid, shrimp, clams, and fish; the clam meat is very small and almost negligible. My family strongly recommends dipping the Thai-style raw shrimp in the seafood salad sauce, which everyone should try. (I still prefer the original sauce.)
  • Papaya salad 🌶️
  • Tossed squid salad 🌶️
I didn’t try these two dishes, but a picky family member highly recommends the papaya salad.
  • Lemon fish 🌶️
The fish is very tender, and the sourness of the lemon enhances its freshness. It’s a refreshing dish that disappeared quickly.
  • Spicy stir-fried seafood 🌶️
The seafood consists of squid, shrimp, fish, and clams, but nothing particularly memorable. It’s fairly standard.

All the dishes I ordered were spicy, but I couldn't choose the spiciness level, and in reality, they weren’t very spicy, which was a bit disappointing.

The self-service bar offers white rice, Thai milk tea, iced water, Vitamilk, black sugar soda, and ice cream.

There are six ice cream flavors: durian, pandan, coconut, caramel, champagne grape, and a colorful flavor that smells very much like cotton candy?
(Since the restaurant didn’t label the flavors, I inquired, and the staff mentioned that even the colorful one was unknown to them.)
I recommend the colorful flavor. Although it looks very sweet and my first instinct was that it wouldn’t taste good, after trying a bite from my family, I surprisingly liked it! It really does smell like cotton candy, and the ice cream cone had a crispy caramelized coating!

🛑 Final Summary
This time I didn’t have enough fighting spirit, so I didn’t order a variety of dishes and didn’t quite use up the 110 minutes. I think the biggest downside of the restaurant is the lack of Thai desserts, like mango sticky rice; I heard from a staff member that they used to offer desserts but don’t anymore. I'm really sad about that. 🥲

The staff’s service attitude was friendly, and there was only the owner in the kitchen preparing the dishes. During my meal today, I didn’t feel like I waited too long. I think the owner is quite capable, but I’m not sure if it will take longer when the restaurant is full.

I recommend this place to anyone wanting to enjoy all-you-can-eat Thai cuisine at a more affordable price.
