# Yilan Su'ao
I arrived in Su'ao early this morning, looking for a Chinese-style breakfast. I came to the area around the Cultural Junior High School where there are many breakfast shops. This one, Hometown, has the best business.

Most of the customers are taking out their orders, and there aren't many people dining in. At first, I wanted to eat a "gua bao" (steamed pork bun), but unfortunately, it was sold out by just after eight. I later decided to order a purple rice ball and also got fried noodles and bacon egg pancakes.

The rice ball was cooked quite well; it wasn't too hard, with a perfect texture. Inside, it contained half a braised egg, pickled vegetables, pork floss, and a fried dough stick. It had a lot of old-school flavor. However, the fried dough stick inside the rice ball wasn't crispy, which I didn't like—I prefer crispy fried dough sticks!

There's no doubt that the bacon egg pancake uses a flour batter here in Yilan, but it’s not soft or mushy. Kids who usually don’t eat the flour pancakes tend to finish this one completely and enjoy it. 👍

The fried noodles also have that nostalgic taste. They are topped with meat sauce to increase the fragrance, and the noodles are well-seasoned without a heavy greasy feeling. I think the fried noodles are highly recommended; they're quite delicious.

Overall, it's a breakfast shop full of warmth and friendliness. Every customer is warmly greeted by the staff. The dining environment is simple and plain. If I have the chance next time, I still want to try the gua bao. 😆
