The duck rice from Wu Family Duck Aroma has a generous portion, but the flavor is ordinary and the braising sauce is somewhat lacking. The duck meatballs in the soup have a good texture, but they lack meat flavor. Other items like duck blood and the sliced rear leg duck meat are also not quite to my taste.
Wu's Yaxiang is a chain store that can be found in many places. It is a brand that has made its fortune in Hsinchu.
Duck rice: It’s made with shredded pork. There’s a lot of meat, but the taste is average. There could be more marinade. The more you eat, the drier it becomes.
Duck meatball soup: The meatballs taste more elastic than ordinary meatballs. There is no meaty taste. The soup tastes like what you can drink in ordinary snack bars.
Duck blood: I don’t know why vinegar is added, but it just tastes sour, so I don’t recommend it.
Hind leg duck meat cut on a plate: heavily smoky and dry in texture.
Overall, I don’t like the taste, but the portions of each item are quite large.
