The black pork barbecue at Pig Fish Ji is particularly delicious, with both the pork belly and pork neck being very satisfying. The garlic rice paired with spicy kimchi soup and spicy mixed scallops is even more delightful. Overall, the menu is simple yet satisfying.
The restaurant is located in a relatively remote area, which may raise some doubts about it, but the dining environment provides a satisfying experience.
The staff is enthusiastic and will grill the meat for guests, allowing them to enjoy the food easily; it's very thoughtful.
【Foodholic Nako @ Jeju Island, South Korea】
"Don Gi" is a black pork barbecue restaurant that I found out about while researching Jeju Island beforehand. The Jeju Myth World main store is not located inside Jeju Myth World, but rather in a relatively desolate area nearby. We arrived at noon, and there was only one group of customers in the entire restaurant, which made us wonder if it was really worth coming to eat.
But to conclude: Don Gi is delicious! If I had to say, Don Gi should have the highest overall score among the three black pork barbecue restaurants I visited on this trip to Jeju Island!
The menu here also has Chinese translations, so there’s no need to worry; you can definitely understand it~
The black pork menu here is quite simple, featuring only pork belly and neck meat paired with garlic rice. You only need to choose how many servings you want; we selected two servings for ₩61,000, and even without ordering anything else, we were super full!
The side dishes are basic for wrapping the meat and include garlic slices, green onions, kimchi, sesame leaves, and also a spicy chopped scallop dish, as well as spicy kimchi soup.
I want to particularly mention the garlic rice, which comes with a raw egg and soy sauce to mix into the rice – this bowl of rice itself is very tasty!
The staff recommended that we dip it in the spicy kimchi soup, add some kimchi and the spicy chopped scallop on top, and it was super delicious~~
The black pork in Jeju Island does not disappoint. Both the pork belly and neck meat at Don Gi are very tasty (the staff will grill it for you, so you don’t have to do anything yourself). They also serve grilled pork skin, but the pork skin is a bit heavy. I personally would prefer to wrap it in lettuce or eat it with rice rather than just on its own.
Additionally, the enoki mushrooms were grilled well and very juicy. Overall, the meal was very satisfying~
