The store offers a variety of scone flavors, with the roasted tea pearl sugar paired with fresh cream being exceptionally delicious. The toffee-flavored salt and grapefruit-scented oolong also have their unique characteristics, resulting in a solid overall taste.
The interior environment of the renovated old house shop, with its dark wood texture, creates a stable atmosphere, while the bright lighting makes the space feel spacious and comfortable.
The staff are friendly, able to answer questions attentively, service is acceptable, and the overall dining experience is good.

This scone shop has been recommended by others, and I heard it’s the kind of place that you would want to visit specifically to buy. I’ve been keeping it in mind for a while, and this time I happened to be nearby, so I decided to grab some. There are seats for dining in, but since I was just taking out, I didn’t go into the seating area. There are nearly 10 flavors available, and there’s a menu for the week outside for reference.
I heard from others that the take-out and dine-in prices differ a bit, but if you get take-out to eat there, they will heat it up for you and add fresh cream at no extra charge. I originally planned to just buy one to eat on-site, but I ended up picking one to eat there and taking two home.
▪️ Hojicha Pearl Scone $65
I selected this one to eat there. The heated scone served with fresh cream was just right. The fresh cream balanced out the scone's somewhat dry texture, and it was very light with a subtle milky aroma. Paired with the hojicha, I think it’s perfect!! The hojicha flavor was quite strong, and I really liked the overall combination.
▪️ Salted Toffee Scone $60
▪️ Grapefruit Oolong Scone $65
These two were taken home to heat up. Without the fresh cream, the overall taste was quite dense and a bit dry, but I personally have a high tolerance for dry foods.
The salted toffee scone had a thin layer of toffee sauce on top, which was quite delicious without being overly sweet; the grapefruit oolong had the appearance of grapefruit peel (I originally mistakenly thought it was orange peel), and the combination of oolong and grapefruit was not bad at all.
Overall, I think it’s a tasty scone shop! If you have a little time to eat, I recommend dining in or eating on-site; I believe it’s even better paired with their fresh cream. Unfortunately, I didn’t buy the popular original taro flavor because I was worried it’d spoil quickly. If I get the chance, I would be willing to try other flavors.
🔺 It is recommended to finish eating on-site within 15 minutes.
🔺 Scone storage methods: At room temperature for two days, refrigerated for three days, frozen for three weeks.
🌟Minimum spend of 150 per person, dining time 90 minutes, WiFi available.
🌟Scone flavors are based on what is available that day.
"Baron Scones" is the top choice for many internet users in Chiayi looking for scones. The store offers a variety of scone flavors, and from the market to the storefront, you can tell how much Chiayi locals love it.
"Baron Scones" is located in a renovated old house with dark wooden decor, creating a stable atmosphere. Upon entering, you will see the counter filled with scones, and a sweet aroma of flour and butter fills the air. The second floor has spacious seating with plenty of natural light through large windows, featuring open seating areas with tables for two, four, and larger tables for 6-8 people. However, one downside of dining in is that the prices for scones are higher than for takeout.
The menu at Baron Scones includes: signature scones, cinnamon rolls, pudding, pound cakes, coffee, cold brew tea, fresh milk tea, and other drinks. Scones for dine-in come with fresh cream and jam, and if you choose an 80-NTD flavor, you must pay the difference. All scones inside have a uniform price of 100 NTD (this significantly reduced my intention to dine in, as I can take out different flavors for only 55-80 NTD, while dine-in costs 100 NTD for just one🥹).
🎵: Vansirr - Halcyon Age
There are many scone flavors available that day: original, toffee salt flower, roasted tea pearl sugar, milk wine Assam, cocoa crumble, blueberry Earl Grey, salted butter peanut, and original taro.
If you don't plan to eat the scones right away, you can bake them at home later.
Toffee Salt Flower 💰60
For takeout, the staff will ask if you plan to eat it right away; if you do, the store will heat it and add fresh cream. The tall scone, glazed with toffee, caught my eye immediately. Once I had the scone, stuffed with overflowing fresh cream, I took a big bite; the outer crispness and soft, fluffy inside combined with the sweet and fragrant toffee + fresh cream created a flavor that was sweet without being cloying—truly delicious! At this moment, it’s perfect to enjoy with a cup of unsweetened hot tea. (Although eating the scone like a sandwich for takeout can be a little messy 😂).
Earl Grey Milk Tea 💰60
The aroma of the Earl Grey milk tea is also very strong; overall, their flavors never disappoint.
Thoughts: The sweet scent of scones wafted through the store, and I quickly finished the scone sandwich I took out, but every time I eat scones, I feel the need for tea, as it can easily feel dry in my mouth—am I the only one who feels this way?
