"The Satisfied Association" is the restaurant on Jeju Island that comes to mind when thinking of eating hairtail fish, and it has been featured by numerous bloggers and YouTubers. The restaurant is located in the southern part of Jeju Island, and after dining at Oula Wang the previous day for hairtail fish, we immediately came to try The Satisfied Association.
The biggest difference between the two restaurants is that The Satisfied Association helps remove the bones from the hairtail fish, which is a huge plus and makes dining much more convenient!
We ordered a set for two, which included grilled whole hairtail fish + braised hairtail fish in a clay pot for ₩82,000. This set also included marinated crab, soy sauce shrimp, and seaweed soup, along with a bunch of side dishes that were too plentiful to finish.
Among the side dishes, my favorite was the quail eggs and spicy mixed raw octopus, which were very appetizing~
As for the marinated crab and soy sauce shrimp, each person gets one shrimp, which is raw. It tasted very fresh, but I’m not particularly fond of shrimp, so it didn’t impress me much. Regarding the marinated crab, I still didn’t quite understand it; it oozed out a lot of crab fat. Whether eating it alone or on rice, I thought it was...not bad, but I didn’t really get what was so great about it. Overall, it was a bit of a hassle to eat, and in the end, I didn't want to deal with it anymore.
The braised hairtail fish in the clay pot here is actually the same as the spicy braised hairtail fish at Oula Wang. Compared to Oula Wang, this place has a smaller pot, but it has a lot of hairtail fish, and all the bones are removed — super awesome, very tender and easy to eat~~
Now, the main attraction: grilled whole hairtail fish. When the fish was brought out, it was truly astonishing, a whole fish!! And it was quite large!! The staff helps with a dazzling technique to remove the bones, which is pretty cool~
However, I think the grilled hairtail fish here is a bit too salty; just eating it alone is very salty, but pairing it with soy sauce and onions balances the saltiness better. Personally, I feel that Oula Wang's grilled hairtail fish wins out in this aspect~
