Yang's ancient delicacies

Today I passed by a traditional Taiwanese snack shop "Yang's Ancient Food" and came in to try their cuisine. This time I ordered a large bowl of braised pork rice, mixed braised meat, preserved egg tofu and braised egg.

🍚Large bowl of braised pork rice - $55
Although it is for internal use, it is still packed in a carton. The size of the carton is similar to the common take-out pasta boxes outside. The portion size is very sufficient, and the braised pork is mainly fatty meat with less lean meat. In terms of seasoning, in addition to the aroma of soy sauce marinade, a lot of pepper is also added. The overall flavor is oily but not too salty.

The boss puts braised meat and braised eggs together, and the whole dish is mainly seasoned with soy sauce. The flavor of the braised eggs is slightly lighter and not very tasty. Overall, the braised food is quite average, nothing particularly surprising.

🥚 Preserved Egg Tofu - $45
The preserved egg tofu is served in a soup bowl, which is quite unique. The good thing is that tofu absorbs the flavor of soy sauce very easily, but be careful as it can become overly salty if you're not careful.

Overall, the taste of this store is quite good and the price/performance ratio is very high. If you want to eat all you can for a small amount of money, this is definitely a good choice. Although some dishes are not particularly outstanding, overall they are worth a try.
