I have bought lunch boxes several times.
Since I was young, I have really enjoyed eating Chishang wooden box lunch. The delicious rice paired with the aroma of wood, and then taking a big bite of juicy meat is simply delightful.
In my heart, the best one was originally the one at the Taipower Building. (Later, it moved next to the Tri-Service General Hospital's Dingzhou campus.)
After spending more than a decade in Tainan, a gourmet city, I actually didn't get to eat a single delicious Chishang lunch box! <Maybe there were too many other delicious options (?>)
This time, while staying in the Danhai New Town for a vacation by the sea, I accidentally found this Chishang lunch box.
What I had this time was the special of the day: grilled scallion oil chicken. I complained to the boss lady about the vegetables not being enough. The warm-hearted boss lady generously added a heap of cabbage in the middle for free. (The original plating and color were quite beautiful. 🤣)
The tender chicken paired with a sauce full of scallion flavor, along with the fragrant and tender rice—it can only be described as extremely satisfying.
In terms of deliciousness, I could eat it every day if it were near my home. If it’s further away, I could just go buy from the one next to the Tri-Service General Hospital.
Conclusion: It’s delicious, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit a lunch box store that's far away.
(In the past, every time I returned to Taipei, I would definitely go buy from that Chishang next to the Tri-Service General Hospital.)
