After returning to Yilan for Mother's Day celebration, I've discovered two brunch places nearby (Xiangyang found another recommendable spot today. I sincerely feel that if it weren't for work, moving back to Yilan wouldn't be a bad idea; there are more and more delicious foods, and these dishes would cost an additional 100-200 NTD in Taipei).

This brunch restaurant isn't very fancy in decor (it feels like the owner's home), but there are many thoughtful details inside, such as a decorative cabinet at the entrance made of paper, and wall decorations made from plates, etc. The menu offers set meals and pasta; there are a total of six set meal options. Today I ordered Sirloin steak and thick-cut pork shoulder. Each set meal comes with bread, an omelette, and a drink, and you can pay extra to upgrade certain items.

Before the main course, they serve a bowl of fruit yogurt, which includes about five types of fruit mixed with yogurt and jam, making it very refreshing and appetizing 🤤. The sirloin steak is cooked to about medium, and although it isn't thick-cut, the meat is tender and quite large. The most important highlight is the peeled chili pepper cream sauce; when paired with the beef, it elevates the entire dish. It was so delicious that I bought some sauce to take home. The side dishes also reflect the owner's creativity, such as squeezing mashed potatoes onto a leaf of romaine lettuce for a refreshing taste. I can replicate this at home later. Additionally, there are radish shavings pancakes paired with a sweet and tangy vegetable sauce for a different flavor. The thick-cut pork chop is also quite good; the optional caramel sea salt sauce is relatively thick, which didn’t quite match my taste with the meat. The bread is homemade by the owner and was so delicious that I almost ordered some to take away. Finally, even the iced red tea has a detail: a little bear ice cube 🐻, which is incredibly cute 😍.

The owner provides very friendly service, and you can see the thoughtful details in the dishes (at one moment, I even felt like I had entered a French restaurant). Many excellent brunch spots use fresh ingredients or pretty plating, but this place is different, focusing on deliciousness and creativity instead. The overall dining experience was great, and it’s now part of my go-to list for brunches in Yilan 👍👍.
