"Zeng's Traditional Shaved Ice" has been operating for 66 years in Yan Cheng, known for its signature mixed shaved ice topped with red heart tapioca. The shop only opens for 4 hours each day, serving traditional shaved ice drizzled with house-made syrup that tastes refreshing and not overly sweet. The workstation is kept very clean, and the indoor dining space is small. Meals are self-serve, and the high stool design can feel a bit cramped.

Zeng's Traditional Shaved Ice is located near Pier 2 in Kaohsiung's Yan Cheng District, with a parking lot nearby, just a 2-minute walk away, making it very convenient.

The menu at Zeng's includes: stuffed tapioca ice, red bean milk ice, taro ice, aiyu ice, grass jelly ice, as well as tapioca pudding, grass jelly tea, and winter melon tea.

There are 9 types of ingredients available:

Red bean stuffed tapioca, glutinous rice balls, boba, rice noodles, sweet taro, mung beans, red beans, grass jelly, sweet potato taro balls, all of which are wonderfully chewy! The aiyu seems to be sold separately and looks fantastic!

You can choose to add all the toppings or just the ones you like. Of course, if you can try the mixed version, you should taste all the toppings! The tapioca is chewy, the taro is fragrant and sticky, and surprisingly, the grass jelly is very aromatic and delightful. Their finely crushed ice is solid and doesn’t melt easily. Initially, I wanted to reduce the sweetness for fear of it being too sweet, but I found that Zeng’s syrup isn’t overly sweet, making for a refreshing treat that is not cloying.

Thoughts: Next time, I’d like to try the aiyu. This place offers traditional great flavors, and I would highly recommend it. If you find indoor seating too cramped, I suggest taking out your order to enjoy at Pier 2.

If you prioritize food: Delicious, highly recommended.

If you prioritize the environment: The workstation is kept very clean, but indoor high stools can be a bit crowded.

If you care about parking: Motorbikes can park at the entrance. Cars can park in the (Pier 2) parking lot.

If you prioritize restrooms: None available.

If you care about queuing: The service is very quick; there’s almost no waiting in line.

If you value service: Average.

If you consider value for money: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The translation of "綜合冰" to English is "mixed ice."
Ai Yu looks really awesome.
