Dining date: 2024/12/14
I’ve known about this restaurant for quite a while, and today I finally have the opportunity to visit. There are a lot of people waiting to dine on site. It’s suggested to call ahead for a reservation to avoid waiting.
Today we ordered:
⭐️ Nomadic French Big Breakfast (Caramel Apple) 💰295
⭐️ Open-Faced Wood-Fired Sandwich (Cherry Duck Breast, Caramelized Onion) 💰285
The meal includes a cup of black tea; if you switch to other drinks, you can deduct 50 yuan.
🥤 Korean Grapefruit Lemon Americano 💰140-50=90
🥤 Nomadic Old Style Fresh Milk Tea 💰120-50=70
🍰 Sun Moon Red Tea Pound Cake (with Tea Ganache) 💰120
The restaurant uses products from local small farmers and merchants to create the meals, with portions being a bit on the delicate side. Today, the two of us left feeling about 70% full.
⭐️ Nomadic French Big Breakfast (Caramel Apple Flavor)
Includes French toast, small farm salad, German-style bone-in sausage, creamy soft egg, pan-seared spiced potatoes, and fruit. The caramel apple on the French toast is flavorful but not overly sweet. The salad is fresh and includes beetroot and pomegranate. The German-style bone-in sausage is very juicy. The potatoes are parboiled before being fried, giving them a soft texture. Today, the fruits included cantaloupe, pear, and passion fruit. I’m not sure if they change with the seasons, but what we had today was quite sweet.
⭐️ Open-Faced Wood-Fired Sandwich (Cherry Duck Breast, Caramelized Onion)
Includes a sandwich, small farm salad, pan-seared spiced potatoes, and fruit. The sandwich is made with handmade bread from Fish Light Wood Oven, paired with caramelized onions, perfectly roasted duck breast, and garnished with sesame leaves. Overall, the combination is really delicious!
🥤 Korean Grapefruit Lemon Americano
Grapefruit jam and lemon combined with Americano coffee, it’s tangy and sweet, which is very refreshing.
🥤 Nomadic Old Style Fresh Milk Tea
A friend who joined said it has a strong milky flavor.
🍰 Sun Moon Red Tea Pound Cake + Tea Ganache
By itself, it has a red tea aroma but is a bit dry; however, once paired with the ganache, it tastes great!
In summary, if you’re in Sun Moon Lake and are tired of mountain produce restaurants, it’s worth a try at Nomadic!
