Cham Café is a coffee shop under the Fun Taitung Hostel, and you can see the tagline "The closest coffee shop to Taitung Station" on Google. This is true; it only takes about two to three minutes to walk there from Taitung Station.
On that day, due to an unexpected event, the eastern main line was suspended, and while waiting for the train to the South Link Line to depart, it was impractical to look for food in the city, so we had to solve the problem nearby.
Today, I enjoyed tomato meat sauce pasta, chamomile tea, and iced classic chocolate, totaling 570 NTD.
Tomato Meat Sauce Pasta:
A standard café flavor; there's nothing bad about it, but it doesn't have any distinct features. If I had to say, the pasta seemed to be slightly overcooked.
Chamomile Tea:
Hot tea that can be re-steeped. The aroma of chamomile helped us relax amid all the chaos.
Iced Classic Chocolate:
Similarly, it's a standard chocolate drink. This café collaborates with Starbucks for its beverage offerings, and although they can't use some member discounts because it's not Starbucks, the taste is quite similar.
Overall, it is indeed the closest coffee shop to Taitung Station. It performs at a standard level without any obvious features. The lobby is spacious enough, seating spacing is ample, and the decor, while elegant, has a warm touch, making it a place where you can relax with peace of mind. The hostel itself is a bit pricey, something we didn’t consider when coming to Taitung.
I would recommend it to everyone.
