“Taipei Jiang Spicy Stinky Tofu” is a chain brand that can be found almost all over the island. It has always been a regular option for my occasional dinners, especially in winter when enjoying a hot pot is just heartwarming~
Tonight I came to savor this famous spicy stinky tofu pot for a nostalgic taste!
The restaurant is located on Section 4 of Hankou Road in the North District, and it gets quite crowded during meal times, with often a wait for indoor seating! Tonight, after a short wait, I was seated. After ordering, the food came out quickly—the boss is very efficient!

🔸️ Spicy Stinky Tofu Pork Hotpot $155 As soon as it arrived at the table, the rich aroma of Chinese herbs and spicy flavors wafted in the air, making my mouth water~ The meal comes with a bowl of white rice and satay sauce. The ingredients include black sausage, rice blood cake, tofu skin, enoki mushrooms, duck blood, stinky tofu, sliced pork, small meatballs, and more! I took a sip of the broth; it had a smooth, non-choking texture, delicious and easy to drink. The spiciness leans more toward a peppery heat rather than a numbing sensation! Overall, it was tasty and went down smoothly, with a subtle herbal fragrance lingering pleasantly in the throat!
The pork slices are fresh and free of any unpleasant odor, with a slightly chewy texture and a bit of fat. They are deliciously fragrant and spicy, making them very appetizing! The combination of meat and rice is perfect for eating!
The main character of the soul is stinky tofu, which is soaked full of broth and easily split apart with chopsticks. The texture is soft, tender, juicy, and delicious. The tofu is not as stinky as I imagined, but it has a spicy flavor. The herbal taste is infused in the tofu and it's really tasty; I could have another bowl with rice! 🤣🤣
The bean curd skin is chewy and absorbs the soup well, making it a great side ingredient for hotpot. It doesn't dissolve easily even after prolonged cooking, and dipping it in sesame sauce enhances its savory flavor. The best part is that it doesn't have a greasy taste!
The duck blood is very fresh and tender, with a bouncy texture that isn't dry and flat. It absorbs the broth well, making it very flavorful and delicious! Unfortunately, there are only two small pieces. 😂😂
The black wheel is also a good supporting actor; its sweet and aromatic taste, combined with the spicy broth, elevates the overall eating experience! It doesn't get mushy when you eat it, which is not bad at all!
The dining area is bright and clean. The hygiene is well maintained.
