Rong Ji’s stir-fried beef has a history of 50 years. During the severe period of the pandemic, there were rumors about the restaurant being taken over, but ultimately, thanks to the patrons’ pleas, they decided to continue operating. Today, we have a rare opportunity to reminisce about this traditional and delicious taste.
About the Environment
You can tell it’s an old establishment from its decor and atmosphere. However, even in this long-standing local tourism night market, the cleanliness of the restaurant is not neglected. You can feel the traces of the owners’ careful cleaning. It is a nice place to relax and gather with three to five friends to enjoy hot pot.
About the Service
As a well-established shop, the staff is mainly composed of more experienced waitresses, which adds to the warm and friendly atmosphere. Everything from ordering to paying can be handled at the table without needing to leave your seat. Sauces and hot pot ingredients are self-service.
About the Dishes
Rong Ji’s beef brisket hot pot remains delicious as always. The fried rice seems to have been slightly watered down in seasoning after the pandemic; it would be better if the kitchen could assist in adjusting the flavor to be a bit stronger. The stir-fried beef also reflects good culinary skills and excellent value for money, but this time it felt a bit greasy overall.
The overall dining experience suggests that the dishes perform moderately well. It’s a place worth visiting for fried rice and stir-fried beef, while the beef hot pot is worth trying for its sweet vegetable flavors.
