The "Hayo Wacha" on Yizhong Street is a Japanese-style bubble tea shop that indeed has a very Japanese feel in its decor. The interior furnishings are quite exquisite, and there are always many people, making it hard to find a spot in line.

What this shop is most famous for, perhaps, is not its drinks, but rather the Japanese grammar that has been mocked by the YouTuber Domidoro. 😆

When I ordered, I found the menu to be quite complicated, with names paired with a bunch of numbers that looked dizzying. In the end, I ordered the "Kyoto Color Dance Black Tea," and the taste was... just black tea. The tea aroma was okay, but there wasn't much excitement; it was a bit dull on its own. If you want to order this, I strongly recommend adding milk to turn it into milk tea, which should provide a better depth of flavor.

Overall, the drinks perform reasonably, the decor is quite distinctive, and if there’s no line, it's worth stopping by for a cup, but if there is, you might want to skip it.
