⚲ Men's Dormitory Shaved Ice 🍧

It’s the best feeling to have a bowl of ice on a hot day 🤤. This place tends to be quite popular even on weekdays. There are no reservations for dining in or take-out, and the number of seats inside is limited, so it’s recommended to come early. Once you step inside, you get a nostalgic Showa-era Japanese atmosphere, with many cute posters from that era on the walls. (I only realized the next day that this place is actually quite close to the Lecheng Palace 🤣)

☘︎Japanese Shaved Ice
➀ Midsummer Dream
A big bowl of shaved ice topped with a light blue-purple lemon butterfly pea sauce, complemented by lemon juice 🍋 for a sweet and refreshing taste perfect for cooling down. Adding seedless grapes enhances the sweetness and texture a little bit. Halfway through, there appeared a variety of toppings: osmanthus oolong tea jelly, guava powder cake, yogurt, and halved seedless grapes. The cake had a subtle QQ fragrance but was very unique. I didn't expect that these flavors could go so well together! I was surprised and found it quite interesting!

➁ Roasted Tea
For the second shaved ice, I ordered roasted tea. It was drizzled with roasted tea milk sauce, and topped with red beans, glutinous rice balls, and cereal crisps. The rich aroma of roasted tea matched perfectly with the smooth red beans. We all agreed that it was delicious with the glutinous rice balls 🤤. Halfway through, there were also a lot of red beans and grass jelly appearing—a great combo for cooling down and quenching thirst!

Matcha Basque
Rich in matcha and cheese aroma, it leans more towards a light cheesecake feel, not heavy or greasy like traditional heavy cheesecake (my favorite 😍). Accompanied by a small cup of barley tea, it helps alleviate the richness after eating the cheese, filling your mouth with a refreshing grainy taste. (Next time I want to try the roasted tea flavor~)

Overall, I really liked both shaved ice options!
Each flavor is unique and has a good serving size, perfect for sharing among 2-3 people. The Basque was also delicious!
