📍Location: Vancouver, Canada

Authentic Hong Kong-style tea restaurant ☕️ can be found in Canada!
I was thrilled when I found out about this restaurant near the hotel. I truly have an Asian palate; when I'm abroad, I don't crave burgers and fries. Instead, I like to seek out various types of Chinese, Japanese, Hong Kong, and Vietnamese cuisine.

The restaurant opens as early as 8 AM, making it one of the earliest to open in this area. The seating inside is in booth style, and the overall decor is very "Hong Kong." The walls are covered with colorful menus, and there's an abundance of green tables and chairs. This seemingly nostalgic, chaotic yet somehow orderly style is very characteristic of Hong Kong and doesn’t make you feel like you’re abroad. The staff are all from Hong Kong and are fluent in Chinese communication. 👌

✨ The breakfast menu is available until 12 PM!
This time, the four of us ordered four sets, which are:

  • Char siu macaroni + ham and scrambled eggs with pineapple bun + hot milk tea (set CAD 16, replace bun with pineapple bun + CAD 4.2)
  • Satay beef macaroni + luncheon meat with fried egg and bun + hot coffee (set CAD 16)
  • Pork with scrambled eggs and bun + hot milk tea (set CAD 16)
  • Turnip cake + steamed rice rolls with scallions + iced coffee (set CAD 16, scallion rice rolls + CAD 1, upgrade hot drink to iced + CAD 2)

Detailed thoughts are shared in the images. Overall, the dim sum part of the menu outshines the soups and noodles! The pineapple bun, in particular, is baked to a perfectly crispy texture, very fragrant and delicious, definitely a must-order. 👍
The portion of a set meal is enough to fill up a man, and a bit too much for a woman. Since our meal times are irregular while traveling, we treated one meal as two, ordering more than usual. You can make your own judgment based on this.

🥤 The milk tea and coffee are very rich and authentic. It's recommended to order hot drinks to better appreciate their richness. Previously, in Hong Kong, hot drinks didn’t have sugar added, but here they do, so you can drink them directly.

💁 Regarding service, online reviews mentioned rude attitudes, but on the day we visited, it seemed okay. The staff were just a bit reserved, but it didn’t negatively impact our dining experience.

The diners there are all Chinese, which really gives you the feeling of being in Hong Kong. This delicious and authentic Lido Restaurant is highly recommended to everyone!

The overall arrangement and atmosphere of the store make one feel like they are in Hong Kong.
The people who come to the store to dine in the morning are all Chinese.
Condiments on the table.
Meals. Each person having a set meal felt like a feast; we were really full.
Char Siu Macaroni Soup When the noodle soup was served, it looked really strange 😂. I've only ever had dry-style macaroni, like cheese macaroni or tuna salad macaroni. It was my first time seeing it in soup, which I found quite odd. The broth looked as clear as water, but it tasted better than expected; it was a flavorful clear soup. The macaroni was overcooked, and the char siu was alright. Overall, it was mediocre, and I didn't finish it. I wouldn't recommend this dish.
Scrambled eggs with ham are delicious~ Bread rolls with butter also smell great!
Satay Beef Macaroni Soup The soup tastes like a combination of satay sauce and braised flavor. There are quite a few slices of beef, and paired with macaroni noodles, it’s more flavorful than barbecued pork~ but I’m still not quite used to it 😅. You can order it, or not.
Spam with fried egg and a roll Just the taste you imagine 😆
Pineapple bun The crispy crust is baked to be super fragrant and super crunchy! So delicious~~ A must-order 👍
Hong Kong-style radish cake The surface is pan-fried until slightly fragrant and crispy, with a lot of ingredients inside and very delicious 👍 but there's a little too little of it, which is a pity.
Scallion Rice Noodle Roll It doesn't contain much filling, just some scallions mixed into the rice noodle skin. It tastes quite good with the rice noodle sauce. The skin is the thicker type and very chewy, with a generous portion. If you love rice noodle rolls, you can give it a try.
The translation of the text "帳單" to English is "Bill" or "Invoice".
Pineapple buns in the baking tray.
There are also egg tarts for sale that look delicious. If I weren't already full, I would want to try these dim sum.
Takeaway bread is also available.
