Delicious Taiyaki in Xiaogang 🤤
After hearing my colleague share about it, I couldn’t wait to come and pay a visit, because she said it was the most delicious Taiyaki she had ever eaten.
However, when I came for the first time, I was disappointed because even though Google Maps showed it was open, the stall was covered. I recommend calling to confirm if they are open before going. ☎️

The second time I came in the evening. The shop is located in the food gathering area of Xiaogang, next to Jinfu and Hanmin Road.
From a distance at the entrance of the alley, you can see a brightly lit spot. Although it’s a small stall, it’s arranged in a warm and cute way, and the environment is very clean. 👍🏻
If you're riding a scooter, you can stop briefly, but it might not be as convenient for cars.
Besides the eight items on the menu, they have limited flavors written on a small whiteboard each day (I found out online that they previously offered a spicy chicken flavor 🙀).

🍴
This time I got two to have for dinner, and eating them hot was really delicious.
The texture is the most unique I’ve had among the Taiyaki I've tried so far; the batter isn't like a sponge cake but rather thin and crispy.
Inside, it has a chewy texture, similar to mochi.
The feeling of fullness isn't as high compared to other shops, so eating it as a snack doesn’t feel burdensome. I find the price quite acceptable. ~

Although the shop isn’t located directly on a main road, there are still a steady stream of customers.
Since they make it fresh upon ordering, it might take about 5-10 minutes to wait.
However, the owner doesn’t rush through the steps due to the number of orders; they are still careful to bake it to the right color, then trim, cool, and package it.
I quickly took a picture of my meal because the packaging is quite cute, and the string on top makes it convenient for those riding scooters to hang it on their bikes.

✐ Betel Nut Taro $45
· When I ordered, kids next to me were discussing whether this is actually betel nut xdd... it’s intriguing enough.
Betel nut taro is one of the most common varieties in the market, as the inside is filled with red fibers, resembling the cross-section of betel nut, hence it's named betel nut taro.
The texture is delicate and soft.
The shop doesn’t add extra seasoning, allowing you to taste the original, sweet flavor of the taro mash.

✐ Extra Thick Cheese $45
· Cheese lovers can’t miss this; besides cheese slices, there are also cheese blocks inside. When heated and bitten into, it oozes with a creamy texture that is very fragrant and rich—it’s super satisfying to eat!
