📷 Summer All Open
Located in the Guomao community, the old photo studio combines a dessert shop. Initially, it was simply a photo studio, but later it transformed into a place that also serves desserts. The dark wooden decor has a retro vibe. Besides taking photos and enjoying desserts, they also sell film and provide developing services. I have been there several times; the owner is very nice and even helps check the cameras. 👍🏻
On a hot summer afternoon, we ordered:
🍹 Wanglai Qingguo Sparkling Water $110
It's refreshing, not overly sweet or sour, with a pineapple aroma. It’s balanced with a slight bitterness from orange peel, a bit of sliced green grape flesh, and just the right amount of bubbles with enough ice. It’s perfect for cooling off in the heat.
🍹 Earl Grey Milk Tea (Latte) $120
There isn’t a heavy spiced flavor; it has a smooth, natural taste. The tea and milk flavors are perfectly balanced. The sweetness is consistent, not overly sweet or bland.
Desserts:
🍰 Tieguanyin Double Peach Chiffon Cake $175
It should be peach and cherry (not entirely sure). It pairs well with the rich tea flavor of Tieguanyin chiffon cake. The cake is moist and not dry or hard, with just the right texture. The whipped cream is perfectly proportioned and very refreshing.
🍰 Kiwi Chiffon Cake $165
The reviews are just as excellent as the cake above. The kiwis are golden and not sour at all. Overall, it has a perfect balance. You get to enjoy the dessert without feeling burdened.
Overall, I would give it a high score. 👍🏻
One aspect is that the ambiance and style are crafted wonderfully! Entering this retro, tranquil world makes it very suitable for afternoon tea and relaxation. ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
📷 Little Note: There’s a minimum spend of one drink per person. There are no self-service tea, water, or napkins as minor downsides.
