Today, I made a special trip to Sanyi to eat at this noodle shop 🍽️. We arrived just before lunchtime, so there were still plenty of parking spots available~ 👍 It seems like the shop has been renovated (an elder mentioned that it used to look as old as the place next door, Jumbao, so they must be making quite a bit of money 😂). Once we entered, I was a bit surprised to find the interior quite spacious. On the left as you enter is their kitchen, and if you walk a bit further, there’s also a side dish area (a whole line of it). After grabbing some side dishes, there were aunties right behind preparing and replenishing them quickly. There were also aunties nearby enthusiastically asking what you’d like to take. Once you made your selection, you could take it directly to your seat.
We ordered quite a bit this time. The meal isn’t considered cheap, but the portions are pretty generous~
🔆 Wonton Rice Noodles 🌝🌝🌝🌝🌜
The portion is quite large; generally, a woman could get full just from this. The flavor is of the traditional kind, and the crispy fried shallots sprinkled on top are very fragrant but not overly oily. 😍 The wontons taste fresh and have a rich flavor. There’s even a braised egg inside, which has absorbed the flavor from being braised for a long time; it tastes a lot like a tea egg. 🤣
🔆 Pig Skin 🌝🌝🌝🌝
It’s cleaned quite well and doesn’t have any fishy smell. It has a rich char-grilled aroma (the kind of taste that pig skin should have, you know? 😂) It’s a reliable side dish that doesn’t disappoint.
🔆 Bone Meat Soup
The meat is tender, breaking apart easily with just a bite. It’s suitable for the elderly or those with dental issues. The soup is very flavorful and seems to be made as a base specifically for meat.
🔆 Signature Stir-Fried Leeks
The flavor of the leeks is quite strong. I’m not sure if the chef didn't mix the salt evenly that day or if they are just that salty. Personally, I found it quite salty, especially towards the bottom of the plate where the broth collects—super salty. 🫠
Overall, the dishes were good. I recommend arriving early if you want to eat. By the time we were leaving, it wasn’t even noon yet, and the parking lot was already full. People kept coming into the restaurant continuously~
