Dixon’s Malaysian food diary!
This time I came to the Penang cuisine in the food court of the department store in Mid Valley South Key.

For the first time, I saw Penang-specific cuisine in this vast food street.
I've always been curious about what's so special
I finally gave it a try this time

But I didn’t expect that from the moment I walked into the store to the moment I walked out, everything was thunderous.
First of all, there were very few people inside during dinner time.

The store's original space is not very big.
And the lights are not very bright either
I thought this was a Penang style
Walking a green and dark wind

But when you walk into the store, you find that no one will entertain you.
It turns out the sign at the counter says come here to order.

And the menu part
Just hang it on the counter
If you need some paper menus
There are seven or eight tables in total, and about one or two tables will have menus on the table.
You can pick it up yourself and take a look.

And the food sold in this store is also very simple
Just rice, noodles, side dishes, desserts and drinks
There are about four or five choices each for rice and noodles.

They all look like authentic Malaysian cuisine.

Once you have decided what you want, you can go to the counter and place your order.
Then the meal will be taken care of and the number will be called
At this time, you have to take it to the counter and pick it up yourself.

Then when you're done eating, you have to take the whole plate back to the counter
I didn’t expect such a simple service!

But rather than talking about the overall situation, we have to talk about whether the food is delicious or not.
I can only say that the portion is small and not delicious...
If this is the so-called Malaysian special food
Then everyone should not come to eat~~~~

⭐️Food section
The staple food ordered that day should be curry white noodles
When I got it, it looked quite delicious overall.
Then we will stir the red curry into the whole noodles
At this time the whole flavor comes out

It’s not that this staple food is not delicious
It would be better to say that there is no special feature
And the portion is very small

The specialty is probably that the curry tastes quite strong.
Overall, it doesn’t taste bad.
But you don’t quite know what you’re eating either

There will be a combination of two types of noodles inside
One is more ordinary white noodles
The other is a more special kind of thin noodles like winter noodles.

But overall except for noodles and some two shrimps
some more minced meat
Served with a spoonful of red curry
Besides, there are thick noodles and thin noodles.

And if you only order this as your main meal
I think it's hard to eat enough

As for the side dishes, I ordered something I don’t know what it was.
It's a bit like a combination of various green vegetables and sauces
I probably won’t be able to survive after eating three pieces.
There's something like green pepper in it...

⭐️Drinks section
Ordered a cup of milk tea
But it’s just a cup of milk tea, nothing special
And it tastes like it’s been brewed with powder…

⭐️Atmosphere part
The whole store gives people the feeling of green and dark gray style.
I actually don’t know why Penang’s style is like this.
Is it because the green feels a little dark?

And the whole store is not big in size
But there are so many tables
But it's a pity that there are no guests

So it's a bit like a small shop that was brought in from the outside.
This kind of atmosphere, right?

⭐️Service section
as said before
Basically 80% of this store is self-service.
From the moment you order, you have to go to the counter to order and pay immediately.
Even when the meal is ready, the number is still called
You go to the counter to get it

So I can only say that there are no services at all!

⭐️Price section
as mentioned before
Because the portion size of the meal is really small
So I think the price CP value is not high.
And the taste of the restaurant cannot be said to be very good.
Therefore, for this money, you can only eat this kind of food, and you won’t be full.
The price part is really unsatisfactory!

⭐️Location section
The same is located in the food court of a department store hypermarket.
The natural customer base is large
All I can say is that it’s thanks to the rent here.
The location must be good~

⭐️Summary
I was originally looking forward to talking about what is so special about Penang cuisine.
I didn’t expect that I would have such a feeling and experience after eating it.

It seems that if we want to eat Penang food, we have to really fly to Penang!
friends passing by
if not necessary
You really don’t need to come into this store.
Similar to the level and service attitude of omnivorous food in roadside shops
Paired with store prices in department store food courts
In addition, the content of the food is nothing special and has no characteristics.

I don’t think you should try it🤣🤣🤣
