The coconut chicken at Runyuan Four Seasons is very famous in Shenzhen, and they have many branches. Since we happened to be near Happy Coast, we chose this restaurant directly.

There are professional staff to help with the hot pot. We just need to follow their suggestions and enjoy our meal slowly. The staff waits for the coconut soup to boil before adding the chicken, and after it boils, they recommend that we finish the meat first before adding the black chicken rolls. Throughout the process, we can enjoy it with the clay pot rice.
The broth is based on coconut milk, which is very sweet and refreshing. It's ideal for a hot summer day; even though it's hot, it doesn't make you feel overheated. After cooking the chicken, the flavor of the chicken melds with the broth, making it enjoyable to drink several bowls without feeling tired of it.
The chicken meat has a firm texture, a bit chewy, and is not considered tender.
Once the black chicken rolls are added (which are chicken slices made from black-boned ducks), the broth becomes relatively cloudy. The black chicken rolls are best enjoyed with their recommended sauces, and the texture resembles hot pot chicken slices. If you haven't tried it, give it a shot—it's hard to describe the flavor.
The clay pot rice is made with Chinese sausage and liver sausage. It isn't oily or salty but packed with flavor, making it worth ordering.
The vegetable and mushroom platter is very fresh. During this trip to Shenzhen and Guangzhou, all the vegetables I've had were very fresh and delicious.
For two people dining, it will fill you up, but next time I’d like to try other dishes and swap out the black chicken rolls.
