Foodholic Niko @ Jeju Island, South Korea

When it comes to the delicious food in Jeju Island, it's hard not to mention "Sisters Noodles 자매국수," a famous restaurant that is definitely a must-visit when in Jeju Island. "Sisters Noodles 자매국수" is located in the northern part of Jeju Island, not far from the airport, so a lot of people plan to eat here as their first stop.

This restaurant is quite large, and the outdoor parking lot is also super spacious. They are open for lunch until 2:30 PM. We arrived on a weekday at 2 PM and were surprised to find the parking lot still packed, with many people waiting for a table. There were about 20 groups ahead of us, but the turnover rate is quite high, and we were seated after roughly 20 minutes of waiting.

This restaurant also has a rule that each person must order at least one dish. Since there are many tourists, they provide a menu with Chinese translations, so ordering isn’t an issue!

Pork Soup Noodles ₩11,000
First, I must praise the broth—it is made by simmering pork bones, and it's very delicious. It has a rich and fragrant tonkotsu flavor but doesn’t feel greasy at all. I almost wanted to finish the whole bowl! The noodles are made with oil noodles, and as long as they are not soaked for too long, they have a nice chewy texture. There are plenty of pieces of pork, both lean and fatty, and even my husband, who typically doesn’t eat fatty meat, found it quite tasty! However, a few pieces were a bit tough.

Mixed Noodles ₩11,000
I initially thought this was a hot noodle dish, but to my surprise, it turned out to be spicy cold noodles. Although it has a mild to medium spiciness, it’s very refreshing and doesn’t feel heavy at all. It’s quite appetizing, and paired with the pork slices and yellow bean sprouts, I finished it quickly!

Both bowls of noodles are quite substantial, and one person could definitely fill up on a single bowl. However, we were still curious to try the boiled dumplings, which many tables around us were having for ₩10,000.
There were quite a lot of dumplings, although they were quite small—just one bite each. Dipping them in a bit of the included soy sauce was quite refreshing and helped cleanse the palate. The shredded seaweed on top added an extra touch! However, the dumplings did have more skin than filling.
