The third stop of Tainan’s 400-year food and drink journey - Xingyuan Café

This is a Chinese medicine store cafe located in an alley. Why is it called a Chinese medicine store? Because it used to be "Xingyuanji Medicine Store", it was bought by the boss and his wife and opened a coffee shop. They sell Green Grass American and Bolida American, which is very special! The Chinese medicine cabinet in the store actually contains filter coffee bags, which is unique~

There are cute coffee-signed poems placed outside the store (for example, the American version is "Are you okay? I'm American!"), and Chinese golden songs are played inside the store (the first song you hear when you walk in is Li Zongsheng's The Hills, and the second one is Jacky Cheung's Kiss Goodbye🥰 ), it has a strong sense of style but makes people feel extremely comfortable

The space inside the store is not big, with only three tables and some bar seats. We visited at 1:30 pm on Saturday and were lucky to have a seat.

Iced latte $120
It’s just a common and delicious latte. Although it’s nothing special, it’s enough to drink it smoothly. The coolness of this cup saves us who are almost drowned in sweat on a hot day.

Hot noodle tea latte $140
The noodle tea latte is a specially recommended item by the store. I already like noodle tea very much, so of course I can’t miss it. The smell of noodle tea is very fragrant as soon as I take it. I was worried that it would be too sweet (the boss himself said it is probably slightly sugary). But not at all. The bitter taste of coffee is still there. There is no sense of incompatibility when the two are put together, and it is not too thick. The consistency is about the same as that of a regular latte.

This store provides Tainan cultural walking tours. If four or more people are traveling to Tainan, you can come and ask the owner about it!
We happened to meet the proprietress leading a group, and we were lucky enough to listen to some guided tours for free, and also learned more about the culture of Tainan temple gods and goddesses. The proprietress also sent us the Dajia Mazu gold sedan she had obtained before~

Overall, the boss is cool and the wife is warm and cute. The whole store, from the inside to the outside, from the decoration to the drinks, makes people feel very Tainan-like. Not only does the coffee here taste great, it also exudes a natural and non-embarrassing atmosphere. The human touch and 1.5 hours of time are very rechargeable. I recommend you to stop by this store when traveling to Tainan!
