Finally came to visit the new beverage shop that just opened next to Fu Jen Catholic University. If you spend 100, you can turn a gashapon machine after the grand opening. On a weekday afternoon, it took about 10 minutes from lining up to placing my order and receiving the drink.
I got the super rich hot pot brew with buckwheat jelly, lightly sweetened and iced, for $84. The tea aroma and the spice flavor of the hot pot milk tea are quite distinct. The milk flavor is also strong (after all, they added creamer 😂). Overall, the balance between the tea and the milk is good; neither one overpowers the other. The lightly sweetened drink became a bit cloying as it warmed up towards the end.
I was really looking forward to the buckwheat jelly, but it didn’t have much flavor when I ate it. It was also softer to chew than expected. The drink prices are a little high, but I would be willing to repurchase the drink. As for the jelly, I would not.
