"Hong Kong Brand Gyudon House"
A new affordable Japanese rice bowl under the Hong Kong hot dog Zeppelin, opened for a month. Since it's locally produced, we must support it! It was fully seated at 8 PM, but not many were waiting for tables. This time I ordered takeout to try~
House Gyudon | 29 (M)
The beef is quite plentiful and thinly sliced, easy to chew and goes well with rice. The beef flavor is fragrant, but it could use more gravy for the rice. Hopefully next time it will be juicier!
Curry Beef King Rice | 75 (L)
The L size comes with two hamburger patties and takes some time to prepare. It's on the drier side, but definitely filling. There's not much curry sauce; even though I ordered curry XXX, it could have a bit more curry to complement the rice…
Add Vegetables Set | 10
Pleasantly surprised! Has a wonderful fragrant oil flavor, the more you eat, the more it whets your appetite.
Add a 3-Piece Fried Chicken Set | 20
Standard Japanese fried chicken~
Drinks for the set can be selected:
• Iced Red Tea
• White Peach Juice
• Miso Soup
• Canned Soda
I would recommend adding a soft-boiled egg/cheese or seasonings to make it tastier. I saw the kitchen had a sign saying "Don’t forget the soft-boiled egg!" So fun 😹 Currently, there is a trial offer for the House Gyudon set, 100 for 5 bowls. If you love scallions, this is the place for you. I saw other customers with their rice having quite a generous amount of scallions.
The location is convenient and offers good value for money; the prices are similar to Sukiya, giving more options for friends who often look for budget meals.
Environment | A 3-minute walk from MTR Exit B. The store is located on the 2nd and 3rd floors. There are two self-service ordering machines before the lift, where you can order first before heading upstairs to wait. The 2nd floor has another self-service ordering area and a counter. It has two floors, 3000 sq ft, with seating facing windows/walls—perfect for solo diners 😹 The 2nd floor is for regular picking up meals, and the 3rd floor is for hot pot meal pickups. The stairs leading to the 3rd floor are narrow, so be careful when taking up your food. There is a utensil and self-service area next to the pickup area, but it seems like this is the only place to get utensils, which can be a bit inconvenient when many people are waiting for their meals.
Service | I waited about 20 minutes for my takeout, with around 30 numbers in line. There’s a self-service tray return area; remember to clean up after eating.
💸 | ~160 / 2 people (dinner time)
