The ordinary kitchen is located on Zhonghua Road, near the Qijiao River.
This is a distinctive restaurant. Whether for takeout or dining in, the owner only accepts orders placed one day in advance, and only serves one table at a time.
The most famous dish is the taro duck, which is recommended to be reserved in advance. The taro is soft and creamy, while the flaky crust crumbles at the slightest touch, yet each piece can be picked up without falling apart. The duck is garnished with shredded lettuce around it, creating the feel of being placed in a green basket. There is more duck meat than skin, and the lack of greasiness from the skin suits my taste very well. A slightly sweet dipping sauce is provided.
Another recommended dish is the West Lake beef soup, where minced beef and egg drop take the spotlight, served in a soup similar to hot and sour soup. You can add vinegar if desired.
If you have a little time before or after your meal, the famous "Shengan Temple" and "Ci Hui Hall" are nearby, which are the original sites where the Heavenly Queen Mother resides, and they enjoy a thriving incense trade.
I personally enjoy walking along the path by the Qijiao River.
Parking can be found along the riverside or roadside.
— A reminder, don’t forget to make a reservation first, as it is managed solely by a couple.
