Today, I visited my favorite restaurant that I have come to several times—it’s this chain Japanese set meal restaurant, Set Meal 8. I believe many people love this place too because their meals are really quite affordable, averaging over 200 TWD for a set meal, and you can get unlimited refills of miso soup and white rice 🤩, which is a blessing for everyone!
This time I ordered the Unagi Fried Shrimp Sky Tower that became popular on YouTube 🤩 (it’s no longer available now). When I first saw it in the video, it looked like a large portion, and when it arrived, I was once again shocked 🫨. The whole fried eel is as big as my two palms, and the meat is incredibly delicate. The fried shrimp is also tender and very delicious! Coupled with other fried ingredients like okra, pumpkin, eggplant, and more, it was truly satisfying.
As for the Fruit Fragrance Thick Cut Pork Chop, I think it has the highest cost-performance ratio among all the dishes at Set Meal 8 because besides the main meal, it also comes with a chawanmushi (steamed egg custard) for just 200 TWD! The fruit sauce paired with the pork chop, daikon radish puree, and cabbage is very refreshing, my favorite!
