Fell in love with Yu Guan Grass Jelly again🩷🩷
Haven't eaten it for several years
As expected, a store that has been around for a long time
Always continues to improve🥳🥳
Sharing my list of local grass jelly ice places,
sorted by opening time ⬇️
Yu Guan Nuo Grass Jelly ✅
Lan Mama Grass Jelly ✅
Zi Yu Grass Jelly ✅
Dan Gu Grass Jelly (opening in 2024) ✅
(✅ are the stores I have reviewed)
Currently, the grass jelly ice places in Penghu
have all been rated, it's time for a preference ranking 👍🏻
Stay tuned for the results at the end of the article~~
Yu Guan differentiates between three bowl sizes for different dishes:
I remember that the previous assorted ice was also the size of the tofu pudding bowl.
I don't know when it was surprisingly changed to
this enormous bowl 🤣🤣
One bowl has also increased in price to $75.
However, considering the portion size, the rich ingredients, and the taste,
customers feel that this price point is acceptable.
#Taro Balls
Among the grass jelly ice places I've tried,
this is the only place where you can taste the sweet potato balls and taro balls,
with a strong aroma of sweet potato and taro.
#Taro Puree
It has its own sweetness along with a hint of creaminess.
The taro flavor is rich, and it's super smooth.
Pairing it with grass jelly ice is truly a match made in heaven.
#Sago
The sago comes with a white sauce,
which tastes slightly creamy.
It has a steady milky aroma, and when paired with grass jelly ice,
it has a nice layered flavor, from milky to grass jelly scent.
#Red Bean Paste
You can tell that the red beans are homemade,
very soft and the bean aroma is very prominent.
However, it is a bit sweet,
because the ice and grass jelly itself is already sweet,
and plus they give a generous amount of red beans,
which feels a bit too sweet, so I switched to other toppings 🤣🤣
Yu Guan's sweet toppings are currently my favorite,
refreshing my impression of Yu Guan.
Plus, their shop hours are more consistent,
unlike most other shops that mainly open for tourist seasons.
The owner of Yu Guan is also very caring,
often donating grass jelly to local child welfare centers 👍🏻
and will also donate money to help disadvantaged kids in schools.
In a comprehensive ranking based on taste, portion size, sweet toppings, and price:
First place: Yu Guan Grass Jelly
Second place: Dan Gu Grass Jelly
Third place: Lan Mama Nuo Grass Jelly
Fourth place: Zi Yu Grass Jelly
