Every time I return to Yilan, I always look for a good place to eat salty crispy chicken. When I was a kid, my favorite was the Nobility Pie, but I feel that the quality has changed as I've grown up, so I had to look for new places.
I actually tried many new shops, but I never found one that satisfied me. Some had dry chicken, while others were too greasy. This year, for New Year’s, I finally found a place that we all liked. It’s actually very close to my home and I pass by it often, but I never gave it a chance because of its appearance. This time I checked its reviews on Google, and they were decent, which concluded that we should never judge a restaurant by its appearance. 😂
This restaurant offers a very rich variety of items. In addition to the basic dishes, they also have some special ones, like chocolate fried bananas and fried Northern cod shreds. They also serve cooked instant noodles and vegetable pancakes, which is very cool.
Today, we ordered chicken skin, boneless salty crispy chicken, triangle bones, sweet potato balls, fried mushrooms, and fried baby corn. Each dish allows you to choose the spice level, and you can also add plum powder and garlic. Adding garlic gives an extra point, and adding Thai basil adds another point. Their fried snacks have a nice peppery flavor, but what I loved most is that they aren’t greasy. After all, I always choose vegetables, and if it’s too oily, it would taste terrible. That’s why I dared to order their chicken skin, which turned out to be very crispy. Moreover, their chicken fillet (served during the New Year) has the traditional sweet potato flour style, which is rare in Taipei these days. They even kindly help cut it, so we don’t have to take turns eating.
Overall, the food is delicious, and they package multiple items together in a paper box, making it even more convenient to eat. 👍👍
