🎖️ Jin Shisan All Beef Hot Pot 🎖️
When you come to Chengdu, a.k.a. Lin Yichen's hometown (EO4!), you can't miss hot pot, especially spicy hot pot.
Today, I came here with my colleagues; one is from Fujian, China, and the other is from Wuxi, China, while I am from Taiwan (Republic of China). None of us can handle spicy food 😂 so we ordered a mildly spicy pot, but by the end of the meal, we were all sweating profusely...
The pot is really spicy, but it has a delightful aroma. There is a sauce station nearby, and a girl once suggested I use more sesame oil to shield against some of the spiciness, which does help, but doesn’t that just make it super oily?
We also ordered a plate of crispy pork. One way to eat it is to soak the crispy pork in the hot oil pot to absorb the spicy oil, similar to how you might soak Chinese crullers in a spicy hot pot.
In addition to these few plates of beef, there were quite a few large pieces of steak/meat in the pot, which really hits the spot, but yes, it's very spicy...
Ice jelly is very sweet, so it's best to eat it sparingly, and it also has some dried fruit and cucumber chunks on top.
In the end, I can't help but criticize my former goddess a bit. How far have you actually gotten in your studies? You can claim your grandfather is from Chengdu, but you were born and raised in Taiwan/Yilan, right? I can understand that you're in China for money and to participate in variety shows, but your statements should be backed by facts. Of course, the Chinese government is pretty terrible for forcing you to acknowledge that you're Chinese. Don't forget about Chou Tzuyu.
